Re: Making on MKV with the right Atmos codec for AppleTV through Infuse or MrMC

I've never used tsmuxer, but it sure seems like tsmuxer doesn't support lossless TrueHD audio tracks. https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=21937&start=1260#p95673 RESET_9999's process seems to acknowledge tsmuxer's limitation and tries to overcome it with some magic that isn't clear to...

It looks like Kenbell has a MT1939 era WH14NS40. Or at least did have in June of 2020.

I assume we're talking about this movie: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-Vani ... ay/229572/

There seems to be an English version and it is currently about $7 on Amazon.

Re: The Vanishing

There is software called MediaInfo (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaInfo) that will tell you a lot about your media files. It will tell you what (if any) audio tracks are in your MKV file and what format they're in.

Try that and post the results here.

Re: TIMEOUT ON LOGICAL UNIT

That error and lots of others like it indicate that the drive was having trouble reading the disc. Eventually the OS gets tired of waiting on the drive and assumes something bad happened and displays an error. Most likely, this is because the disc is dirty (even if the surface looks clean). Clean th...

Re: Problem creating discatt.dat file

I almost always create a decrypted backup. The few times I have created a non-decrypted backup it is usually an accident. When it happens, though, I do end up with a discatt.dat file. Does MakeMKV work with other discs? Can you make a MKV in the normal way? Can you make a backup, decrypted or otherw...

Re: Lord of the Rings + The Hobbit 4K (Finally!)

The Data Hoarder crowd over on Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/) likes to shuck drives out of external storage. These days <$200 for a 14TB drive seems to be what people go for. You probably won't get a 7200 RPM enterprise grade drive, but that might not matter.

Re: Where does Source Information - Comment come from? Disc or MakeMKV

I ripped Days of Thunder recently. That disc was titled Top Gun, which was clearly a mistake by whoever authored the disc. Also, my copy of the 4K version of The Phantom Menace is misspelled to be The Phantom Meance. Again, that's a mistake from the 'studio'. Sometimes MakeMKV will label various tit...

Re: Exhausted....Black Hawk Down

The audio and the video are interleaved, which sorta makes sense, since when you watch it on a regular player, you hear the audio at the same time as you see the video. If they were separated, you'd have to wait for the player to read all the audio and store it in memory before it started playing vi...

Re: 3D is broken on the 1.15.2

There's an open source program called MediaInfo ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaInfo ) that can tell you quite a lot about your files, including which version of MakeMKV made your MKV file. For example: Format : Matroska Format version : Version 2 File size : 20.1 GiB Duration : 1 h 56 min Over...

Re: 3 files on disc are the same length

I don't have that particular movie, but often when there's a few 'copies' of the movie on a disc, that means that some stuff has been localized for particular languages. For instance, in Star Wars, the opening text is in a different language. In the case of Disney movies, for example, it is almost a...

When I open a MakeMKV backup, I select the enclosing BDMV folder, not anything inside it.

Re: Drive disappears from windows while creating MKV - "This device does not exist"

I have an actual WH16NS60 with 1.02 firmware on it and I have seen a few times the drive get so confused that it stopped working and seemed to disappear from my Mac. Since mine is external, I can just cycle the power on the optical drive enclosure and it'll come back. Sometimes, a thorough cleaning ...
