Re: MakeMKV drops non-empty audio tracks?

The MKVToolNix set of tools will probably let you mash the two audio tracks into a single .mkv file. It isn't a thing I've ever needed to do, so I'm just making an informed guess.

Re: Unable to RIP UHD "Gladiator" - "ILLEGAL REQUEST:INVALID FIELD IN CDB"

If you're experiencing rip errors, please read here first: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=15055

The short answer is, your optical drive can either correctly read the data from the disc or it can't. Nothing MakeMKV can do about it. Gently clean the disk and try again.

Re: Save both Dolby Vision and HDR10+

Both kinds of HDR info is in your rip (assuming you're using new enough MakeMKV). If you get the latest version of MediaInfo ( https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo ) it'll show you something like this: HDR format : Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, dvhe.07.06, BL+EL+RPU, Blu-ray compatible / SMPTE ST 2094 Ap...

Re: Attemping to flash LG BP55EB40 on macOS

Hey folks, wondering how to acces the MakeMKV command line tool for macOS? I'm looking to flash my drive (LG WH14NS40 in an OWC enclosure running 1.03) and have MakeMKV installed, but installing the app doesn't seem to also automatically install the makemkvcon command line tool for flashing drives....

Re: Extract PGS Subtitles for Editing

I've used mkvextract ( https://mkvtoolnix.download/doc/mkvextract.html ) to get a subtitle track out of blu-ray before. I've used online tools to convert those extracted subtitles to .srt format. That's as far as I've needed to go. I wonder if you could round trip from the edited .srt back into blu-...

Re: How do I create an MKV and maintain Dolby Vision

I wrote an answer to this question specifically about the Apple TV, but it applies generally. https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=24252&p=104067#p103542 I don't use Kodi, so I can't comment on it. I do use Plex, and recent versions of the Plex server do acknowledge the Dolby Vision in ...

So what happen if i choose the wrong playlist? Is gonna show the movie with a wrong order of scenes? …
Yes. The file will play fine, but the scenes inside of it will be jumbled up. One recent movie I ripped it didn't have a jumbled scene until about an hour in, then one scene was out of order.

Re: Read Speeds? LG BP50NB40

MakeMKV will happily rip from more than one drive at a time. Double or triple the number of discs you can process in a day by getting a second or third drive.

Re: Handbrake not working with UHD Atmos mkv - Alternate tool to shrink MKV to 50 GB so compliant BD (BDMV/CERT folders)

Your goal is not one I've seen anyone else try for before. Most people just play the digital files because it is less hassle than dealing with discs and probably cheaper in the long run than buying BD-Rs. Getting rid of unskippable previews and annoying menus is a big bonus in my view. I wonder how ...

Re: Some MKVs won't playback, but others will - same settings

I don't have any experience with Sony Bravia TVs, but it is possible that the TV's CPU is having trouble decoding a blu-ray rip I suppose. Do you have any streaming boxes you could try? An Apple TV, a Roku, a Fire stick, Chromecast, etc.? Handbrake is a good place to start for the transcoding route:...

Re: The Elephant Man Italian 4Kult Edition

Well, I don't think it is in the same boat as Zombieland. Perhaps it has just gotten lost in the shuffle. I presume you're using the latest version of MakeMKV? Versions of MakeMKV prior to 1.12 had some bugs in this space: https://makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=16959 And you're emailing the ...

Re: The Elephant Man Italian 4Kult Edition

You'd be able to tell from the filename of the AACS dump file MakeMKV creates when it can't decrypt a movie. I also think it'll say what the protection scheme is in the 'source' box, on the left after MakeMKV acknowledges the disc but before you start it doing something.
