Re: AACS 2.1 support

Being able to specify an ISO image to convert to unprotected folder backup would make my life SO much easier. Alternatively doing the same from an encrypted folder backup would also work for me. Do I understand the key points from workflow: - get the (unsupported) disc - backup it into "protected w...

Re: AACS 2.1 support

I think the answer is quite easy. Making a protected ISO and then mounting it with either Windows 10 or any other tool gives us the opportunity to decrypt it with whatever software that is capable to decrypt this disc first. Be it your software or your competitor's. Sometimes your program is first,...

Re: AACS 2.1 support

I usually create a protected iso while waiting for makemkv to support new titles. Why ISO? (I mean "why" in a sense "what is the benefit", not to offend you or discuss what particular workflow or tools are better.) Why not non-decrypted backup (same as ISO but files). Is there any "standard" for pr...

Re: UHD Friendly / Official 4K

I already sent in a dump of the firmware. So if you need a drive working now with UHDs, better go with the Asus. Update: with the new 1.46 release MakeMKV starts to read an UHD but then says that a libre-compatible drive is needed... Do you get a "keep fingers crossed" status on the right pane? If ...

But also like TerryRaspin I think that unfortunately the task is on your side. Putting in these zero sectors make the M2TS files incompatible with all software that's out there.
Fair enough. Please PM or email me if you can test it on windows.

Ok. Let us know when you change that and I'll re-rip the discs then try eac3to, ffmpeg and CloneBD again.
I would appreciate if anyone can actually run this test - take the M2TS file, remove all zero-sectors from it, and see if it changes anything...

Re: AACS 2.1 support

Now, when I try to use eac3to to read 00001.m2ts (formerly FMTS) I get the error: The format of the source file could not be detected. I also tried to use CloneBD on the decrypted folder and keep getting errors. It appears that other programs don't like the converted m2ts. It makes me wonder if the...

Re: help with default.mmcp.xml

Any suggestions for how to appropriately edit the default .xml file, and how I can get back to normal? Do not change the default and do not touch tar files. Just extract default from tar, then rename (profil;e name in xml) and put the anyname.mmcp.xml file into MakeMKV data directory. Later, when o...

Re: Failed title - Log attached

I can get it to work with HandBrake but not with MakeMKV - should I just use that program instead? None of the DVDs I have are without at least some minor scratches, unfortunately, due to use over the years. Does this program only really work on brand-new or like-new discs? Can you please test the ...

AACS 2.1 support

Starting from version 1.14.6 MakeMKV fully supports AACS2.1 discs - both in "Make MKV" and in "decrypted backup" mode. When making a decrypted backup, MakeMKV will convert FMTS files into M2TS and will patch all related metadata in *.clpi and *.mpls files, thus "converting" the FM-enabled disc into ...

Re: Progress on AACS 2.1?

I have more 2.1 titles. Any more help on testing ? Patriot, Fury, Stand by me, Zombieland, Charles angels. This is the grand total of five of 2.1 titles known so far. If your title is not in the list, then please do send a dump now. If it is in this list, then it will be either supported or I would...
