Re: BD-RE BU40N Revision: 1.04

it also makes me wonder. The drive comes from a legal distribution ... I think the distributor or supplier has changed the firmware (forcibly?). This is really strange. I think they are running some sort of upgrade process (could be recall / refurbish) where the drive gets a new firmware with encry...

Re: Can not access site from Australia

It is blocked in Japan (both DNS and IP), and it turns that Australia is connected via Japan CDN.

I have a very large pile of optical drives dating back to the CD-only era. I've started seeing which ones MakeMKV has a drive platform displayed for. Let me know if the firmware dumps get annoying... lol
This is amazing. Please do send them all...

Re: Reverting MK Firmware Flash for BH16NS55

So my question is, how would I go about putting the original firmware back on since LG hasn't released the firmware, and there is no way I can get a dump myself. Exactly. However they recently started to release the new-generation firmwares, with encrypted downgrade check. For your drive this is 1....

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020

3.02 stays longer at low read speeds if errors occur and was therefore succesful when 3.10 would fail. 1.15.2 has (would have once released) speed control feature that, among other things, would put the drive to the lowest speed in case of read errors and put back to maximum (possibly above riplock...

The thing is, I am using a Windows desktop or my Macbook laptop (with an external DVD drive, which I use on both computers). Will I be able to use the same license key, to both computers?
Yes.

This is an annoying bug in 1.15.1 . Clearly, it will be fixed in 1.15.2, hopefully it would be released soon.

My Asus has stopped again today, it did work after your patch a week ago as per my last post.
Disabled download and applied the last bin file as before and it has started working again.
Please send the log from v76. This could be a one-time glitch...

Re: Attemping to flash LG BP55EB40 on macOS

I re-downloaded it, renamed it "sdf.downloaded.bin" and it now identifies as v76. You did everything right. This is a bug, sorry. Please check PM in a bit. However, the application still states that no drive tool logic is contained within (what exactly does that mean?): Some explanation is here htt...

Re: BD Drive won't rip DVD or Blu-rays all of a sudden

As I said in previous post changing my sata controller from IDE to AHCI sorted the issue for me and every SDF update after worked ok. There were two separate bugs in that code. Hang in IDE mode was just one of them (not rally a bug of my microcode, rather a missing workaround for buggy IDE controll...

Re: How to backup your original wh16ns40 firmware for sake keeping

A. backup my firmware. (can't find the instructions for this using a dos command to operate makemkv, need help with this. No easy way (near to impossible) for this FW version. The "easiest" way - do user area backup (sdftool dump), then flash 1.04 mk, then downgrade to 1.03 and then you will have a...

Re: Attemping to flash LG BP55EB40 on macOS

Oh, and there is a bug in 1.15.1 that if SDF.bin has junk at end then sdftool will fail to load it. Just to be safe, please download the latest sdf manually http://makemkv.com/svq/sdf.bin
