Re: SDFtool Flasher

I think I have one of the newer versions of WH16NS40 (1.05), but I forgot to check the "enc" option when flashing. Now I get this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/2nikei0yyd304n7/2020-10-20_13-39-31.jpg?raw=1 https://www.dropbox.com/s/la5qj327cwbugzg/2020-10-20_13-39-41.jpg?raw=1 Did I mess up by not usi...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020

BU40N > BU40N 1.03MK What is the best FW for LG BU40N slim drive? Is it still 1.03MK, the latest MK or original FW 1.00? Some people seem to suggest 1.00. If you have 1.00 leave it but I recommend 1.03 for most people because it is a simple 1 step flash and done less risk of bricking the drive 1.00...

Re: Trouble burning with WH14NS40

Will do that. No I get the same thing with imgburn, it wont write. Guessing the drive itself is messed up where it cant burn but only read. Urf that sucks that is one of the reasons I stoped selling these so many defective For uhd ripping I recommend you go back to WH16NS60 firmware to avoid the sl...

Re: Trouble burning with WH14NS40

Thanks for the reply, i will try that. I went over here https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=19113 and downloaded the pack but the directory named WH16NS60 contains a file with the extension .bin but has 1.03 on there and not 1.02, is there a backup somewhere of 1.02mk? thanks again. ...

Re: Trouble burning with WH14NS40

Tried searching for this answer and the closest i could come to an answer was cross flashing of firmware but i don't think it fits my issue here? Bought a drive and it totally can read 4k, it extracts the file fine however, once i try to burn files using anyburn or burnaware it gets a write error o...

Re: Weird problem with my drive, please help

Dammit. The weird thing is he told me he tried to leave one of his drives idle for 2 minutes and that didn't happen. that's called lying Yes I'm aware software players for direct UHD discs exist. I should have worded it better I meant software that everyone can use to play UHD discs (like what exis...

Re: Weird problem with my drive, please help

I tried to flash a simple SD card reader using firmware from the manufacturer's web site (cause it wasn't working on my new Windows 10 PC). Ended up killing the device. So I'm afraid to flash hence why I bought this internal drive already flashed and UHD friendly. Rather have paid 30-40 premium tha...

Re: Weird problem with my drive, please help

Sleep bug as stated in my guide if you leave a UHD disc idle for 2 mins that will happen the solution is in there to fix it to ahh dammit. The solution looks like it could be more damaging than the problem  How is it more damaging I have flashed 100s of wh14ns40 to WH16NS60 it is an upgrade in...

Re: Weird problem with my drive, please help

So I bought a "UHD friendly" LG WH14NS40 blu ray drive. It is external and I use a SATA to USB converter. If I leave it idle with MakeMKV open it will happen again eventually thought and I will have to eject the disc. Any ideas why/how or what could be the cause? Sleep bug as stated in my guide if ...

Re: Buffalo BRXL-PT6U2VB BN12 revision, MK ready?

Hello all, Not sure if my last post is awaiting moderation or has been lost in the nether. I just picked up one of these, flashed it with the firmware from this thread, using the 'modified Asus / LG flasher" as that was the only flasher I could find anywhere on the forum. It seems to have worked, a...
